SummersaltRaro is our family home and is rented out only when we are away travelling. It’s primary purpose is to provide a safe, comfortable, cozy and romantic place with relaxing homely atmosphere.
It’s most beautiful feature is a stunning view and its’ location. These are simply unbeatable and priceless.
Once you get up the steps and open the gate to the deck you are instantly enchanted with a vast views of a sparkling turquoise lagoon with the ocean beyond and fine, soft sand of the beach fringed with swaying coconut trees. The mountains behind the house provide a perfect vista for you when you swim or float in the sea and you can enjoy their ever changing dramatic appearance from your kitchen windows.
The interior is fitted with mostly handcrafted modern furniture and our own art.
The bedroom features a king size handmade bed, cosy romantic lighting, sliding door to the deck and views of the lagoon out of a 3.5 by 2.5 meter panoramic window. Wake up with a a gentle sunrise light from the window above your bed, fall asleep to the sound of waves, watching stars and moon illuminating the lagoon.
The lounge has a table for 4, comfy leather sofa from which you can either watch late sunlight over the lagoon or, after a day filled with sun and the sea, relax watching on the big screen our selection of movies.
The room is filled with art and books and is connected to a open plan kitchen handcrafted from hardwood with stainless steel 4 hob cooker, plenty of shelves and all the modern kitchen equipment you may need.
There are windows on all sides offering view of ever changing stunning Rarotongan mountains covered with lush tropical forest and big sliding glass door to the deck suspended above the beach and lagoon in front.
Start the day with a fresh morning swim and a smoothie, eat breakfast or dinner on our wooden beach table with a sand between your toes, have a glass of wine watching the sunset on the beach, meet our old yet rejuvenated lady Summersalt.
Big sliding doors in the lounge and the bedroom open to the spacious deck with a hammock and outdoor table. We provide our guests with three choices for their meals location – indoor tables for windy or rainy days, covered deck with a comfortable table and chairs which can be moved to the sundeck perched above the beach or you can use the outdoor table downstairs and move it to the actual beach.
There is an outdoor shower, very practical to wash off salt and sand before you get back to the house and there is also an additional toilet downstairs in the laundry room.
